There's something depressingly inevitable about the constant cycle of "attacking manager, defensive manager, club hero" that's characterised Albion's appointments for the last twenty years. Megson (defensive) to Robson (club hero) to Mowbray/RDM (attacking) to Hodgson/Clarke (defensive) to Dean Kiely (club man if not a hero) to Pepe Mel (attacking) to Irvine/Pulis/Pardew (defensive) to Darren Moore (club hero) to Slaven Bilic (attacking) to Allardyce (defensive) to... McInnes?
