A big "no" from me. I loved Derek McInnes as a player and captain at the club but, if we appointed him, I think it would be heart ruling the head. My son is at Uni in Aberdeen and, as an exiled Baggie, he's been to Pittodrie a lot and adopted them as his second club. Ask him and he'll tell you the football is turgid. They've scored once in nine games, and that against Killie, the only team on a worse run than the Dons. It used to be that Aberdeen under McInnes only failed to perform against the Old Firm - no disgrace in that although Celtic's implosion this year opened opportunities for those below them to get something out of games against them this season, which Ross County, Livingston, St Mirren have all done by winning, while Aberdeen have managed a total of 1 point - but in the last nine games they've failed to score against St Johnstone, Livingston (twice), Hibs, St Mirren and Hamilton. The only goal scored - against Killie - came from a free kick so nothing scored from open play.

If we are not happy with Allardyce's style of play, we'll probably despair about McInnes'. He had eight years at Pittodrie and the first five were pretty OK but the last 2-3 years have been very poor. It may a case of exhaustion setting in for both him and the club, and his budget is pretty low compared to Celtic and Rangers, but that applies to every other team in the SPL as well.

A few years ago I would have been very positive about him coming to the Hawthorns but not now.
