I have gone along with the common view that Steve Bruce spends his was to being sacked. Season 1 he buys to survive as typically that is the reason he is brought to a club. He uses the survival success to rape the wallet of his chairman and has a good season. The repeats for the full second season in charge and sinks like the titanic.
