I'm sure most have seen TP being interviewed after yesterday's (Hull) game where he was talking about clubs becoming complacent and switching off, thinking they had almost a 'God-given right' to remain in the Premier League.

Obviously without actually saying the words, he was including us in that company.

Spot on, Tony! When you look back we have been stagnating since the first 2 months of Steve Clarke, and we WERE going to go down this year. It must've been a very interesting meeting between JP & TP when this was first discussed as (I'm guessing) that it was TP that made JP realise this, and that TP was one of the few options left to safeguard our position in the PL.
Fair play to JP for having the sense to recognise what was happening and to do something as radical as he has. I know that we're by no means safe yet but we've been given the best chance of survival, IMO, with this appointment which will be a whole new fresh start for the club and the start of a REAL new era. EXACTLY what we needed!
