First game since Villa for me and I'm fairly happy overall cos we won.
Does anyone if Varela was injured or not picked?
Foster was solid from crosses, Mcauley and Baird were also both fine (I'd still rather see Pocognoli though). Lescott was very good and I see that Wisdom has managed to split opinion again. I thought he defended well most the time and he has quite tidy feet on the ball, he goes forward a decent amount aswell. Some around me agreed that Wisdom had a good game.
Morrison and Yacob were very good in central midfield.
Sess and Brunt both had some good moments and passes but were a bit too quiet overall.
Berahino looked very good for me but was maybe a bit too deep sometimes. Hull put him under a lot of pressure when he got the ball but his control is class and he has great strength for his size. I was glad he scored after some disappointing shots in the first half.
Ideye tried and brought the midfield into play a bit but he can't do much in the air or in front of goal (just form imo) and the rest of his game isn't good enough to make up for it. Anichebe's strength was very useful to close out the game and if it's a choice between him and Ideye, I'd go with Big Vic all day long.
We should have created more in the second half (lack of width and players on the wrong side/too one-footed) but we kept Hull quiet (mainly due to all their injuries).
I thought our crowd was decent and definitely improved even if we're not selling out yet.
Also this is meant to be the 1st time in premier league history that the bottom 4 teams all on on one weekend.
