It's always been considered that Ward has an attitude problem. Hammill is fond of the drink and allegedly has a problem. There may be truth in that given his unprovoked attack on paramedics whilst he was still on loan with us from Wolves. It would also account for why he has not featured for some time. If true it does beg the question why we signed him at all. He is undoubtedly talented, if a little prone to showboating at times, but if there is an aalcohol problem and it's escalating, I can see why he's been sent away. Ward has been a square peg in a round hole, often expected to be an out and out striker which he's not. I suppose now that Vaughan's back there's no place for him and his attitude, if that's true. My nephew thinks that Ward feels he should be straight into the first team whereas he has quite rightly is and has been reserve.
