If you've ever read "Fever Pitch" and liked it, you'll LOVE this. It's not about the Arsenal, or even the Villa, or Dingles - it's about THE ALBION! - and it's in proper Black Country dialect.
I had it for Christmas, started it on Wednesday, and couldn't put it down. I've laughed out loud (and cried out loud) this last few days. Can't recommend it enough! You won't be disappointed. Imperative reading for all Albion fans, and once you've read it tell your friends, and neighbours at The Hawthorns.

I have just bought the book on my kindle and the first chapter had me hooked already. In that first couple of chapters I think the author has captured the atmosphere of West Brom in the early 60s very accurately. His portrayal of the Black country dialect is also spot on and not over the top like many authors do when attempting the Blackcountry language. I look forward to reading the rest off it.
One question for the older lads here. The author relates the early days of the Brummie Road choir and refers to a Sammie (and Steve) leading the choir. I do recall looking up the Brummie Rd and seeing this Sammie conducting proceedings atop a crash barrier. Does anyone know who he was?
