I might be thick or stupid or both but with likes of Austin Grosiki and Hegazi why could there be a problem with wages. Yes agreed there probably on big money now we’re a Premiership side ,, but there Millionaires wether the next club they go to offer them 10,000 per wk or less should not matter. They don’t need the money they could live comfortably for the rest of there lives now without moving. If they want to continue to play and not sit out there contract they will all go to a decent championship side. { abroad in Hegarzi’s case } I cannot for one minute see Austin,who loves playing or Grosicki and Hegazi who want to keep playing for there countries turning down offers. The difficult one is Zohore, still young on high wages to get him out we will have to subsidise his wages. Just my thoughts for me I would want to play.

I'm in a similar boat to you, If I was a pro, I'd rather play and get paid a lower salary. Especially, as you suggest, it's not going to be a poorper salary in the Championship.

But from knowing someone who works in the game, I've realised some professionals can be different. Some still want to play, but there are plenty who are just taking the money. Either because they have fell out of love with the game, don't like football and are merely mercenaries or have pressure from WAGs to just earn as much as they can. Let's face it, the typical footballers wife is just there for the cash.

So I think it depends on individuals. Hopefully ours are the type who still love the game and will encourage a move.
