While we ponder and debate over Grant even the Seals are securing proven PL players.
We need to raise our sights and stop looking at the bottom of the barrel.
I think they will be mid table this year with their acquisitions. As much as it pains me to say it.
Scraped up last year through dodgy VAR handball call vs Palace and the ghost goal vs Sheffield United. But they did learn how to fight at the end of the season and have added quality.
That said, a bottomless pit of cash helps.

Grant is young and hungry and with Robinson who is also young and hungry we could have decent competition. Kanu will stay as our Hold up player if we are winning with 20 mins to go. We have bought in Ivanovic to add experience to Livermore, Kanu and Bartley. As we are bringing the age fo the Squad down I believe it will just be Grant and a Right back on Loan. With Austin, Grosiki, Hegazi sold and Zohore Harper and Soule going out on loan.
I think short term solutions can be good as they might keep you up, get you another year of Prem money and help you evolve.
That said, what I'd prefer about a Slimani type over Grant isn't so much his experience, its that he's different to what we already have. I feel we need a striker with physical presence, someone who can put their head on the end of a corner or free kick, a plan B. Someone to throw on when we're chasing a game.
Basically an Austin replacement. Someone with similar qualities who is actually mobile.
That's not to say Grant isn't a good option, or even better option, individually. It's just he is very similar to what we already. He also scored most of his goals last season from midfield.
I think we need 2 anyway, as Austin and Zohore will (hopefully) go. If both Grant and a Slimani 'type' came in, it would give us a variety of options. Grant coming in could also free up one of the wingers for transfer - Phillips perhaps - as both Grant and Robinson can cover wide midfield. I suspect we will see a flurry of activity on deadline day, will bring in Grant and another, and see both strikers and 1 or 2 wingers move on.
