True townsjustice    and ive allways said the same lee needs Hutch or Barry ? to not get bogged down in a Battle with semi    !! without another creative midfielder normally it doesnt work for lee so does he have to cope with life without 1 ? or should we get the best out off him and the team buy buying a replacement for Mr PLASTIC    answer is we need to buy another midfielder who has Hutchs qualitys and not another pace merchant  first    because all we do is fill a gap in for the short term   Barry was coming on nicely and now thats gone up in smoke    

Watch this space wednesday will not sign they will loan yet another stop gap pace merchant that wont help lee or semi out one bit    he may score a goal or make a cheeky flick here and there    but he wont help the backbone of the midfield out    and i cant believe SG cant see this  

Part of our problem is SG's commitment to playing 442. Lee suffers for this. He seemed to understudy for McGugan recently but got a start again as soon as he left. Semedo has had an extended run as Hutchinson's understudy.

Both of you I agree with here.  The problem is also compounded by the fact that no only does SG insist on 442, but when we play 442 Semedo is the only midfielder we have who is capable of being that anchor that every midfield needs!!  Lee can get forward in the knowledge that Semedo will be behind him, but Semedo offers little in support of the attack, so it is left up to Lee to provide this and I think that leaves Lee in two minds some of the time and he seems hesitant to do what he really wants and he opts for the safe play instead.

We also have no natural wingers anymore. Everyone we play there is playing outside of their preferred position.

Maghoma prefers to play in the centre of a 3 in a 4231, Maguire & Lavery are strikers and Helan is left back. Palmer is the closest we have to a winger but he plays at RB.

Put all this together & you really wonder why we persist with a rigid 442 with two wingers. Surely 352, 4231 or 433 make more sense.

We should try 352/532 with Palmer and Helan wingbacks then if they're caught out of position there is cover there for them. In fact, with the players we have available, these formations would probably suit us better
