Schwarz played a 4-3-1-2 formation so Martin, who is very good going forward, had great form playing as almost like a left winger in possession. Beierlorzer came in and changed the shape to a 3-4-1-2 with Martin as the left wing back. Martin lost his place in the team when Beierlorzer changed to a 4-2-3-1 and for whatever reason decided to drop Martin and instead use Brosinski, a right back, at left back. Why Brosinski was picked at left back instead of Martin is still a mystery to me considering Brosinski never looks 100% comfortable there. Beierlorzer does have a habit of making strange decisions like that though. At right back he put Ridle Baku, a centre midfield player who stayed at right back even when it was obvious to me watching that he wasn't comfortable there.
Tell us something we don't know, Josh.
