Shame - a couple of years ago I thought he looked a real talent and would be a big star for us.
Sadly Leko has never taken the next step to secure a place in the squad - our youngsters make the breakthrough and it's almost as they think
that's job done. So many nearly guys. We have quite a few again now. I only see Field, Palmer and O'Shea ATM as having the potential and desire
to "bridge that gap" (Another band name?) Some of the others are very capable of playing pro football, but not at the top level. But next
year could make me totally wrong. What do I know - many have blossomed in later years.
Looks to me as the Leko deal and the Burke deal are getting closer. What do people think about these do they approve. I will start by saying
1/ to me leko looked really good when he came on the scene, but has not moved on very far over 4 years, but to be fair to him, he was starting to look more effective until he got his latest injury. I take it that the club are selling him as he is not willing sign a new contract, as long as the club can put in a good sell on clause, I think it is ok.
I hope also it means we keep Sam Field as I think he is a better prospect, although I think he needs to go out on loan again this year.
2/ swapping Burke for Robinson is a master stroke. Obviously Burke had some talent at Forest, but for some reason, it has not worked out for him whilst he has been with us. I would pay 1 to 2 million on top to get this deal done, but again a good sell on clause is probably needed for both sides of the deal.
