The internet mostly imitates the styles and tropes of newspapers. You imagine you can respond but that facility hardly differs from writing to a newspaper agony aunt. You might get to talk to a journalist but you won't influence the paper. On the net you may be on a platform but the platform will maintain its agenda despite you.

The Morning Star is in financial trouble, but so are all papers. I bought it to help out and to read one particular article. And because I'm a red.
I don't think newspapers have had their final day any more than books and magazines.
