Surely we should be celebrating the fact that a song "It is thought Swing Low, Sweet Chariot was written in the mid-19th century by Wallace Willis, who was a black slave" is still sung by people of all backgrounds in the 21st century. Whilst the whole slave trade issue is repulsive we can't afford to airbrush historical facts and wipe them from the records. Without a knowledge of history the human race will continue to repeat the same mistakes.
And just to make sure I get some vitriol, please try and remember who sold the slaves to the white traders in the first place Just saying
