Result of our friendly with the seals.
John McGinn made his anticipated comeback from injury as he played around 30 minutes of Aston Villa’s friendly draw against West Bromwich Albion at Villa Park on Saturday.
Jack Grealish and Keinan Davis were on target for Premier League Villa as they came back from behind to draw 2-2.
Albion’s Polish winger Kamil Grosicki had put them 1-0 up before Davis equalised and Filip Krovinovic edged Albion ahead again before Grealish hit back.
The two squads of 25 players plus coaching staff arrived at the stadium in their own kit and their own cars as they adhered to new protocols.
Most players managed around half an hour each as squads were rotated through three 30 minute sessions.
Around 50 staff and players from both clubs maintained social distancing in the stands during the game with the dug-outs left for medical staff.
McGinn, 25, is stepping up his recovery after fracturing an ankle. His last match for Villa was in their 3-1 defeat to Southampton on December 19 and his presence has been sorely missed in their battle for survival.
Villa, who play Sheffield United when the Premier League season resumes on June 17, are due to play Leicester City in their next warm up friendly on Wednesday.
For their part, promotion-chasing Albion are discussing a potential friendly at Manchester United on Friday.
