If they can start a new season they can finish this one first, take a break and start again. Other than contracts currently finishing in June (which isn't really that hard to fix) it may mean after the World Cup that we all plan for a half or 3/4 season to get back on track, but at least everyone knows when we start what the plan is and how the leagues will be won/lost relegation/promotion issues sorted etc.

The FA and their ilk can't look or plan further than the end of their bulbous blood red noses at the moment, then again, most of them are of an age where long term planning means ordering the next G & T before they drain the current one.

What I don't really get anymore is how the FA can overrule the Leagues in deciding if they want to finish the competition or not. I know they are supposedly the overseeing body but quite honestly, apart from a Cup that the Prima Donna League clubs don't get serious about until the semi-finals and running the International sides, what did the FA ever do for us? Apart from fine us a huge wedge for wearing a kit they didn't like while paying lip service to racism and all the other bollox that's really far more important.
