I think you'll struggle to find anyone who is more of a football purist than I am.
I'm very much an idealist it how I believe the ball should be passed and the game should be played. Plus doesn't match those ideals.
However our current predicament, the priority is staying in this division.
Of the current available crop of managers, Pulis is the one manager who has genuine knowledge of keeping teams in this league. Palace were absolutely nailed on to go down before he took over last year, they were getting thrashed left and right.
So while I don't think by any means he's a guarantee. He certainly looks less of a gamble in terms of keeping us up than the others.
It'd be great if there was someone with Pulis' experience of the bottom half of the Premiers League who played decent football, but there isn't.
We will see what happens, but I'd be willing to sacrifice style of play to stay in this league. For the record, I thought the football under Irvine has been the worst since the Brian Little era anyway.
