I suppose what I find strange is that he’s opted for a club very comparable to ours and, assuming we are promoted, will be a competitor of ours for an ‘average’ league position. On that basis, I would have thought staying here was a better option. I know the club had to sell in January to get a fee but, if I was him, I’d have stayed until the summer and, most likely, had a choice of suitors when my contract expired.(29-01-2020, 19:46)baggietrousers Wrote: Palace!!!
Well that just about sums him up. A clear lack of ambition and to be honest not that disappointed in him going. He started the season well but has tailed off considerably over the last few weeks.
I have a sneaky feeling that we will hear less and less about him over the next couple of years as he completely disappears off the radar.
I actually think that Furlong, Gibbs(when fit) Townsend and Brunt are better.
Promising, yes, but no great loss, another Billy Big Boots with ideas above his station.
In fairness to him he'll probably play and improve a lot there and they look a solid premier league club, better than going to a big club and never getting a game, think it's a sensible move from his perspective. We've got Furlong who's great anyway and Gibbs on the left if he can ever stay fit, plus potentially 10m for a teenager. If anything this is a rare move which could work out for everyone involved, I wish him all the best and hope he does well enough to fulfill all the add-ons.
