I honestly don't think the role of head-coach (or manager) is as important as people think it is. The undeniable truth is that only PLAYERS are allowed to play the game. Those on the side of the pitch in their "technical areas" can jump up and down; threaten; cajole; scream at players; make complete fools of themselves as much as they want but they have zero physical impact on the games outcome. Their much vaunted "tactical nous"; "strategical mastery" etc, etc is, for me, over exaggerated. So I don't really care who is appointed....actually that's not true...I would love to see Bomber Brown appointed to be head-coach with the sole task of giving the pre-match and half time talks and all other responsibilities given to the underlings on the coaching/management staff (they don't do much now anyway). Get an ex-Baggie with PASSION in.
