He likes to spend decent money on bang average players. of course during his time at Stoke he made some astute signings as well but i'm not sure i'd trust him with full control of transfers at West Brom

Spot on Tom !  Given his record of signing mostly 'dross' God help us financially if he was given total control of JP's cheque book.  IMO, he's a nasty, egotistical, self opinionated Taff who turned Sjoke into a bunch of hoofballing thugs and got lucky with what he inherited at Palace. I haven't met a Sjokie up here in North Staffs who has a kind word for him but would be delighted to see us take the burden. Before he was ousted from Sjoke, there was a long running 'Pulis Out' campaign similar to that we have experienced with Irvine.

It would be a very poor move to appoint him. I would be very surprised if JP, given his personality, could stand him being in the same room.
