I understand the 'try before you buy' aspect but really think that you also need absolute commitment from players, and I'm not sure that's what you get with a lot of loanees......

Look how our form dipped last season once Leicester withdrew Harvey Barnes.
These loan situations are even more frequent at say league 1 and 2 level when most Clubs can't afford to 'get it wrong' when trying to strengthen their squads. Hence, they go for the temporary solution and are probably obliged to select the loanees to give them game time. Thus favouring them over members of their own squad.
Problem is in most instances they can be recalled at a moment's notice if the parent club so decrees. Thus leaving the Club high and dry.
Take players on loan by all means but, have an option to buy at seasons end if you can.
