The rot from the last two years isn't Irvine's fault, but the reason he was hired was to turn things around and usher in a new era. At this moment in time, there's nothing to suggest he's capable of doing that. It's possible he needs better tools, but even if he's given them, I'm not convinced he's got what it takes to really make this a success in the long-term. That's why I think the club need to break the silence and actually start talking about a blueprint for Albion in a year's time, and two years' time, rather than muddling through from one season to the next, chopping and changing styles and managers at a whim. There's no vision here which fans can buy into.
