"The odd thing about the ground is give the colours of the team are yellow and black the majority of of the seats are in Black and White the colours of the rugby league club Hull FC who share the ground with them. Rugby obviously takes priority in this past of Yorkshire"
I'd like to be able to pin this on the Hull City owner, Assem Allam, but it pre-dates his time at the club.
You have, in the past, bemoaned the franchise club, MK Dons. My soapbox is reserved for owners of football club's who believe that they also own the tradition, granting them the right to change the name of things, including the team itself.
Allam wanted Hull to become Hull Tigers because Hull City sounded too common. (Surely he was thinking Hull Citeh ?)
The fans rejected it - another funny story.
But if he'd got his way no doubt Allam would have pushed the matter further. Changing the team colours to black and white, to match the seats... then
... legally changing the colour of Tigers to black and white ... who knows where it would end ?
There is no truth to the rumour that Zebras were planning a legal challenge to hide-squatting.
Oh, and the result. Hmmm.
6 different North End players, had any one of them been available would have spared poor Ledson making his debut at RB...
....and then LB as well !
