The last time Huddersfield won at Deepdale was in 1969 a 3-1 victory in the 50 years since then they have got sod all and today that trend continued.
In truth expected more from a side who were on a decent unbeaten run and it was only in the last 20 minutes that they actually looked like they could play by then however they were 3-1 down.
Things may have been different if Ledson had been sent off after about 20 minutes for a straight leg tackle on Elphick but Uncle Geoff gave him a yellow. the Cowley's were less impressed with the decision
Uncle Geoff was on a mission to annoy everyone he succeeded. [Image: download-13.jpg] We took an early lead Gallagher free kick of the inside of the post rebound headed home by Stockley. Dominated the first period had countless corners and a second goal more than justified our performance, Ledson out to Barkhuizen cross into the box, clear foul on Stockley but Browne ignored that and fired home to double the lead.
Half time well in control and not one effort of note on goal by the away side.
Town's half time team talk which seemed to be delay the kick off until the opposition have frozen to death waiting for them to appear didn't work our weekly penalty arrived in the first couple of minutes Gally buried it. Had chances to increase the lead and finally on the hour Town had a shot by Grant their best player on the day. Then out of nowhere Bacuna picked up the ball miles out and just kept on going and ended up toe poking the ball past Rudd.
Albeit a bit late Town actually started to play looked a decent outfit, might have been interesting if they had got a second they didn't and their chances finally disappeared when they went down to 10 due to Bacuna being a soft wuss and being unable to continue due to tiredness.

Second as wel go to the break behind Albion do nicely.

Fair play to Cowley

Preston manager Alex Neil:

"I cannot have much to complain about now, we are getting results and performing well.

"It was important to go in at half-time in front and I think, based on the chances we created, we deserved that.

"We knew we would have to change something in our approach, as we were missing two important players, but the team reacted well and showed they can adapt in these situations.

"The important thing now for us in the coming weeks is to keep momentum going. The players can be very proud of the run that we are on right now."

Huddersfield boss Danny Cowley:

"Of course a result like this is difficult to take, but I simply do not think we started well enough today, and that hampered us.

"We do have to praise Preston - they worked hard right from the start and played with a real intensity and we struggled to cope with them in the first half.

"We do not look for excuses in these situations. We have to look at ourselves now and look ahead to the next few games we have coming up.

"The travelling fans were fantastic today, but we let ourselves down with the performance. We came up short and we need to look at that together."
