The first goal in this game was going to be crucial the fact it came in the 98th minute proved that it gave Reading a welcome three points and on the day they deserved it more than we did. This was a poor performance by us, apart rom the first couple of minutes and a couple spells during the game.
Way from our normal selves today, ponderous at times, we were closwed down easily by a Reading side eager to impress their new manager, saying that tough Reading were no great shakes but they were better than us.
We should have lead early doors Nugent missed a header in the early minutes if that had gone in the result may have been different but once the home side got into their stride they did cause us problems.
Has to be said there are some big lads in their side the back three are built like brick outhouses and Puscas ain't exactly a dwarf either, they have some decent players and it is a surprise to see them were they are in the table especially with the likes of Ejaria this lad is a handful.
Reading had a few chances in the first half, Rudd had to be at his best also a couple of shots went narrowly wide.

An early Nugent effort in the second half which went straight at the keeper and a shot by one of theirs which went wide when it should have gone in were the only highlights of a truly awful second half. Thousands of ree kicks and life threatening injuries totaly disrupted any flow in the game , we got worse and they followed us down to a low level of ineptitude, seven extra minutes ensued due to all stoppages and in even more added on time following more injuries Obita fired in a howitzer from about 35 yards, Rudd made a great save but could only parry it Maizga fired home the rebound and that was that.
No excuses can play better than that, still never won in Reading 5th attempt either at Elm Park or the Mad Stad guess probably never will.
Reading manager Mark Bowen:
"When you get a last-gasp winner, a lot of managers - myself included - almost want to come in and say to the lads 'You've earned it, have a day off tomorrow. We'll start back on Monday'.
"With just one win in seven, we can't go patting ourselves on the back. We'll only do that when we get a run of results and start climbing that table.
"We wanted to get the ball forward to the strikers quicker but we probably did too much of that in the first half.
"I think we did that in the second half. It was a scrappy game but, at 0-0 at 70 minutes, I'd have settled for that. I was pleased the way it turned out and I thought that we deserved it."
Preston North End manager Alex Neil told BBC Radio Lancashire:
"I don't think we played well enough albeit it I don't think we deserved to lose the game.
"I didn't think there was anything in it. I thought it was a poor game if I'm being honest,
"I think probably as poor as we've moved the ball. We didn't build well enough.
"We didn't look a threat as much as we generally do. It was one of those games. The game was just a poor game, there wasn't much quality."
