He wasn't getting paid at Mucclesfield - neither was anyone else come to that. Doesn't matter how big or small your contract is, when the brass dries up the motivation stops right there. Ask a former coach of ours that we tried to sack but couldn't afford to. Our last decent shift that season was against Cardiff .... who we just happen to be playing next week.
In other news, there's something about this promotion that for some reason makes me think it's a good idea, just the wrong time to run it.
