Wilfried Bony’s wages could be an issue. His wages have been at a high level, even at Swansea, and it’s been extortionate given the lack of return that Swansea got from him in the past 2 seasons. 27 appearances in 2 seasons and then 7 on loan in Qatar in the second half of last season where his wages probably didn’t change.
On his day he is a beast of a striker but we’d have to get him back up and running, keep him motivated and injury free and most importantly get his wages down to a reasonable level for us so we don’t end in the same situation as Swansea if it wouldn’t work out.
I’ll give him credit for keeping himself fit with Newport but it’d be a no from me overall. We already have Charlie Austin, who has had injury problems with Southampton, and we don’t need to take another risk on another striker who has had problems.
