Maidenhead Remain Intact

The consensus appears to be we are playing with wing backs who lack the pace and ability to play the position. There are doubts about our ability to create from central midfield. Sheridan confirmed he wants the ball moved even faster which explains why Rowley went into hot-potato mode on Saturday. And up front we belt balls up to Boden which are no use to him, whilst Mandeville loses the ball a lot trying to make something happen.

As usual it took Evans up from the back to get us on the score sheet.

We do not have a player on the books capable of going wide and stretching the opposition.

We had a lot of efforts on goal but it took two defenders going up to break Maidenhead down.

We do not have a quick player in the squad unless it is Spyrou.

We do not have a physically powerful player capable of bursting forward.

Without Denton we lack any target for passes or even hopeful hooves and Boden needs someone to feed off.

We have an impossible overload of defensively minded midfield players.

The only midfield player we have who might have the desire to control a game is too easily knocked off the ball and has obviously been instructed to get shut sharpish in any case.

Do we need signings? The fans seem to agree our need is urgent: the manager is convinced that when injured players return to fitness we will be very strong indeed.

Optimistic signs? Defence improved with Hollis returning. Defensive midfield sounded better with Maguire and Wedgbury. But we have to remember with the bookies and the fans Maidenhead were almost universally expected to be in the bottom third of the league at best and we had to fight back to draw.

OR am I being totally unfair?
