And so it begins again, another season of playing with our balls beckons. How will the promoted players perform, will Zinman produce the form to defend his title, will Beefy actually turn up before Xmas??? All will be revealed in the weeks to come!!!
Week 1 saw two players way out in front of the rest, Sanjay leading the way on a fine 24 points, followed by BBB on 20 points. Both managed to get the Gamball spot on and gained from the new scoring on this vital ball!!! Sanjay backed that one up with scoring on 5 other matches as well and got a correct result on the BB, something BBB was unable to do.
Quite a way back in third is Derby on 10 points, courtesy of a correct Gamball but not a lot from the rest of the matches!!!! SCO comes in 4th on 8 points, even though he scored points on 5 matches he suffered by getting no correct scores, missing the Gamball but getting a CR on the BB. Close behind in 5th place on 7 points is one of our promoted players AAA, with our defending Champion Zinman just a point behind in 6th. Neither of them played the Gamball yet both of them got the score spot on, so both missed out on a huge 6 points, could be crucial if they keep that up!!!!!
In 7th was our playoff winner Bomber on 3 points. Not the start he would have wanted, missing both the Gamball and BB but managing to get 2 CS. He will of course be happy to have managed 3 points more than Beefy though, who is in 8th place with a big fat zero from the first week, including one voided prediction due to him posting after that games KO time!! I suppose we could all have predicted this slow start from him!!!!
Bringing up the rear in terms of the players who predicted this week was Themaclad on -4 points. Bit of a mare for his first week in the PL, no CS, missed the Gamball and the BB in a week to forget!! But due to Matt’s failure to post any predictions Themaclad isn’t bottom of the table just yet!!!
Solid start on the whole in the PL, plenty more up and downs to come I am sure!!!!

Welcome back, it's like we've never been away. A new season starts so here I am with a rapidly disappearing bottle of wine desperately seeking inspiration for the sparkling wit and imagination that this league is famous for. OK, maybe not.
An official welcome to our new participants, MightyBrom and Lady Jane and a request for a search party to find the 2 players from last year, 4eva and World class who failed to submit predictions.
A strong start to the season for Twerton who heads this week's table with 17 points thanks to predicting a Baggies win (and backing it up by playing the Gamball, unlike some people I could mention) and also being the only player to score from his bonus ball. Snoots starts with the form that eluded him in his relegation season and appears to be keen to get back to the big league - an impressive 16 points including a maximum from the gamball. Newbie MightyBrom takes third place as the other player in double figures, again thanks to a maximum on the gam.
Amelia's bid to get back up at the first attempt was less impressive with her 8 points leaving her firmly in mid table. Interesting tactic of ignoring all the balls.
The major shock in the first week was not seeing Joker at the bottom of the table. 5 points isn't exactly earth shattering but probably represents an improvement on his average from last season! Lady Jane struggled in her first week, let down by her balls and Stairs also had a poor start, one of only 2 players, with Amelia, not to get a correct score.
BaggieOne submitted his scores but probably shouldn't have bothered as he failed to trouble the scorer and would sit bottom of the table but for the no-shows.
