They're owned by the same company although technically the LFC is a different club affiliated to the 'men's' club.
I'm not sure it's just about male fans. Football is hugely popular with women in Scotland but I'd guess relatively few know much - if anything - about women's football. It just doesn't have the same level of media coverage and traditional fanbase, and in many ways is an inferior product. I honestly see it as almost a different sport altogether due to the stylistic differences, and it lags way behind in some of the aspects of football that usually excite fans, like pace and power.
