Dowling is thick the £6 million it would cost to bring Gayle to the baggies £3million wages per year £3million transfer fee per year for 3 years =
£6 million pounds a year - if we paid a tea lady - let be gererous and say £6,000 a year for 2 days work per week. With Dowlings threat to remove back room staff we would have to get rid of ONE THOUSAND TEA LADIES to fund Gayle's costs
This is a man who is charged with making decisions at our clubHe hasn't got a fkn Scooby Doo
More to the point, if all of this is because the club are trying to stay within P&S limits, then the tea lady and all other General Staff do not count towards the 39m pound loss over three years. The only salaries included in this are the playing/coaching/football executive staff, not other employees of the company. The academy and all cost associated are also removed so its just the first team squad, plus ground improvements are also not included. As was said Dowling is right that you “should” not pay what it would cost to buy Gayle but this will only result in general staff redundancies if you simply cannot afford to pay the general staff, it has no nothing bearing on meeting the P&S stipulations!! Either he is making a political/populist statement or he doesn’t know the P&S rules or the club is financially unsound - the last two should worry you, the first suggests other things!!
