I'd forgotten they actually changed the rules ........... I'd have been a terrible umpire, but I never much needed one when playing. I used to WALK - which didn't go down well with my team on the two occasions that the umpire was happy to let me continue.
I suppose they could have defined what constitutes underarm bowling ....... but I suppose it would just be simpler to make it illegal though that might have an impact on getting children to take up the game.
To be honest cricket has changed so much now I barely recognise it, but I still check Derbyshire's scores. And I have wondered if England having three wicket-keepers worthy of places as frontline batsmen has anything to do with the Brexit backstop.
