Gateshead owner Dr Ranjan Varghese astonishingly claimed in an interview with Radio Newcastle that :-
He is no longer trying to sell the club and has two new experienced directors coming in.
The club has great relations with the National League, FA and local council.
The club will continue to play at the International Stadium next season.
U-19 manager David Dickson will be the new first team coach.
Gateshead Soul Supporters Association's plans to form a new club are supported by only 25 or 30 people, and that they are committing a criminal offence by raising money using the club logo.
The club is now financially stable and debt-free.
The most likely beneficiaries are Aldershot, who will stay up if Gateshead cannot prove themselves a viable club. (Last season from a standing start Gateshead pulled together a team which remained on the fringes of the play-off race throughout the season and is actually geographically well-positioned to benefit from last-minute loan deals from clubs in the North East.)
