Prices came out on Tuesday. At first the quoted price for my ST had gone up 49%, later in the day they said it was a typo and it now is 25%.
Mr Bean (if the cap fits) was on Radio Sheffield last night saying what good value they were because the prices for teenagers had actually dropped !!!!
He wouldnt say anything about every other ticket price going up 25% and yet actual matchday prices have only increased by 10% ie £2 on a £20+ ticket. The poor over 80's who had free season tickets up until now have to pay £50.
When I first saw the 49% increase my first reaction was that they could stick it where the sun don't shine (see SGB, I can be polite), then there was the statement about a typo.
You can call me a cynic (a lot do) but I have to ask if this was a deliberate ploy to make me think that a mere 25% increase was in fact a good deal. The answer to that is unprintable on here so I wont even bother.
Having endured 4 seasons of absolute dross and board incompetence CFC actually expect the fans to bail them out of the situation we find ourselves in.
Whilst Ashley Carson drives around in a **cking Bently and Uncle Dave Makes a £1.3 million donation to charity (which I applaud by the way but wonder how much of it is tax deductible?) and yet its the supporters of CFC who once again have to dig deep to make up for the incompetence of those running the club.
Some argue that next season we will get promoted back to the football league so that makes it worth it. Oh yeah, really? One automatic spot with the likes of Wrexham, a revitalised Stockport and Torquay, possibly Port Vale / Notts County / Crawly or Yeovil and we are going to walk it with our new messiah John Boy at the helm.
I don't share the same optimism and would love to ask "If I fork out for a well over inflated Season Ticket and we don't get promoted, will they give all the ST holders a £50 refund?"
