Chicken with beer is a bad combination as chicken is quite sweet to the palette as is beer. What you need is some seasoning to offset the sweetness. I would recommend frying some onions with black pepper and garlic until they are almost caramelised, throw your chicken in, fry for a few minutes then add the beer if you must. Also try putting a bouquet garni in with some water and leave it to simmer for at least two hours. Then fry some chips, make some gravy and get stuck in
