Nuneaton Borough are back on the verge of going out of business. Their manager and caretaker owner Jimmy Ginnelly has approached several clubs to let them have players to play for free. We are one of those clubs.
Much as I am opposed to Mr Sheridan's selection policy of providing opportunities for young players of other clubs at the expense of our own I do think this is an ideal opportunity to help Nuneaton and help ourselves. They play in the division below us. They have twelve games left and are clear at the bottom of their division. But they are fighting for their lives. We have several young players who, if they are going to make it with us, need a way to force themselves into first team contention - Amantchi, Sharman, Wakefield - and if as I suspect we didn't really want Louis Dodds back, wouldn't Nuneaton be a shop window for him for the tail-end of his career?
Nuneaton needs its football club. This an opportunity to be seen doing something good for once.
