I thought we needed one win from Fylde and Harrogate. I didn't expect it to be Fylde (again)! I certainly didn't expect Dover to treat Becks to a 3-1 defeat on his first visit as a Salford co-owner either. It does, however, have to be said that a lot of the teams at the bottom have taken measures to improve their sides - notably Maidenhead. I'm still not convinced of our own efforts and Halifax don't seem to have done much, but we are 3rd on current form. If we could beat Harrogate 39 points from 33 games would begin to suggest survival. Five wins in 13 games to be safe would look very possible.
I'm not sure Sheridan is particularly an attacking manager. Certainly in the first half of his promotion season with us that team developed an attitude of you can score but we can score more, but Sheri didn't seem particularly happy and when we were trying to escape relegation the following season he seemed to be aiming for 0-0 and snatching a last-minute goal. At Newport too he went for defending his way out of trouble and Carlisle seemed to have both a defensive and an attacking period. To be fair to a man I don't like I think he tries to balance out his team and its style to have the best chance of winning. At the moment I think that means he thinks we have limited potential to score from open play so clean sheets will be essential. Much as I don't like the team he's picking I think it does sum up the potential in the squad.
