I can honestly say that the only grief I have been given has all been in fun. I remember one time in the Canaries where we were playing Newcastle, as the only Baggie, I was getting plenty of ribbing until the power went down in the bar I was watching the match in, with a load of Newcastle fans. They all went off to try and find somewhere else to watch the game. They actually sent someone back to let me know they had found another pub showing the game
. Another time that sticks in my mind about getting ribbed was not in the stripes. It was in an England shirt in a pub in County Wicklow (Eire) on the 22 June 1986, the day of the infamous 'hand of god', I took so much stick you would not have believed it. However after the game you could not have got another glass on the table with people putting a pint down saying "here you go English, drown your sorrows", true banter.
