As we are exiled Baggies in Scotland, me and Joe got to go to the game. You will all have watched it on Sky but it was a decent turn out by the supporters considering it was a wet Monday night in Bolton.
I’m a big Brunty fan but I thought him going off did us a favour - although Sam Field wasn’t outstanding tonight, he brought more of an urgency and a willingness to go forward. Agree with the comments on Harper, whom we both thought was excellent and those on HRK who was bloody awful. In the absence of Phillips, I thought BD might have given Lekona start as we were desperately lacking in pace. Come back Harvey Barnes, all is forgiven. I don’t think we played well and we’re fortunate to be up against a poor and dispirited Bolton team. Play like that against Stoke, Middlesbrough and, dare I say it, Villa and we’ll struggle.
Should also say we chatted to some Bolton fans at the pre match protest; I really feel for them - a great traditional pub that’s been fu*ked by a wretched owner.
Sorry “pub” should read “club” ??
