And so back to Colombo for the final match in this short tour. Having lost the series, which is in reality a World Cup warm up, England will be hoping to make it look an almost respectable 3-4 defeat rather than a hammered looking 2-5 defeat.
On this tour there have been a few good individual performances from the likes of Moeen Ali, Joe Root, James Taylor and Chris Woakes, but not enough evidence that the skipper Alistair Cook is going to show he is worthy of his place in the side or even that his vice captain Eoin Morgan is either. Could be a new broom required after the World Cup, when James Anderson and Stuart Broad will hopefully be back.
