New PEC Zwolle boss Jaap Stam has been looking to strengthen his squad this month with Pelle Clement and Lennart Thy already recruited. Now the club have set their sights on Joost van Aken.
According to De Teleraaf, PEC Zwolle want the defender on a loan deal, but De Stentor adds it could be permanent if his contract is dissolved in Sheffield.
The Eredivisie side are waiting to see what plans new Owls boss Steve Bruce has for the former Heerenveen defender before they can complete the deal.
Van Aken joined Sheffield Wednesday from Heerenveen back in 2017 but the 24-year-old has been hindered by injuries. He has only made two appearances this season so far and 16 overall for the Championship club.
