Didn’t see any of the incidents, so won’t comment on that, but VAR wouldn’t make any difference here would it? There can be no after the fact punishment if the ref saw the incidents and dealt with them on the field, as appears to be the case here, so as any VAR judgement is asked for by the ref then I would assume as he saw them and did nothing at the time he wouldn’t have felt the need to use VAR. If the ref is crap and made bad decisions then that is a different issue to all of this.
