So you all saw what I saw.
Usual one sided ref (not ours unfortunately with 20 fouls against and 4 to us ) and a team totally lacking in confidence and looking like a bunch of strangers not knowing what the other was going to do. For me the only one with any passion was Bannan who ran his socks off, played center forward at times and handed out a few rollockings to the rest of the midfield and defence. Fletcher put in a good shift too but everyone else was crap and no one else gets more than a 3 or 4. Dawson made a few good saves but can’t distribute for toffee. Lee’s is completely lost without Loovens help and his preferred passing is 5 yd sideways or a dodgy back pass to Dawson.
I actually stayed until the end but even the players looked sheepish as they clapped the remaining crowd in the North and the Kop.
I thought the penalty decision was dodgy so it warranted the save and they also conned the ref into a lot of free kicks. That said they knew who was going to do what and where and a team of Bannan and 10 dustbins would have made it harder.
At this point a draw next Friday would be like a cup win but I think I may just go into hiding and hope we don’t concede more than 3. Not sure Jos has got long if this keeps up and we may need someone like McCarthy to kick a few into shape.
That said I had a really good day out with my eldest daughter who enjoyed the fish and chips in the street and a couple of pints of Owls IPA in the Wednesday Tap. Also fantastic respect from everyone there to The Last Post and minute silence for WW 1 remembrance and the Leceister owner.
Return to ididdle normality next week.
