Prediction League Results/Tables Week 11

Fairly consistent scoring this week with the Gamball being a nice reward for a few but losing points for half the field. Leading the way this week with 22 Points is BBB. He got 4 spot on predictions including the only CS Gamball and would have scored more had he not missed on the BB plus he was the only predictor to not pick up the extra point on the SB!! In second place was the in-form Worldclass, netting 17 points this week, a CR on the Gamball and spot on with the BB certainly helping his score!!

Joint 3rd this week was the league leader Matt and a resurgent Amelia, both with 13 points. Sanjay and Derby round out the predictors that managed double figures this week, both lost points on the Gamball and for some reason Derby didn't play a BB this week which likely cost him a couple of points as well - got to get those balls in play!!

The last 4 spots this week were taken up by the three committee members and our Huddersfield optimist!! Beefy on 9, SCO on 8, Zinman on 6 all had poor weeks and had it not been for Beefy and SCO getting a spot on prediction on the BB game would have been in a far worse position. Zinman and Beefy both bottled the Gamball as well, in Zinmans case this was the right decision, but that cost beefy a couple of extra points this week!! In last place was Lord Snooty, who put his BB on a 4-1 win prediction for his beloved Huddersfield Town and promptly scored -2 on that one game!!!

Cheers

If ever we needed vindication for changing the points system this season then the Premiership does just that as the top 7 have all reached triple digits and are separated by only 28 points.

Matt returned to an above average score after 2 lowly scoring weeks and retained his lead at the top, albeit by a reduced margin to a new challenger, in the shape of BBB who climbs a place into 2nd with a seasons best for the week and only 4 points off the summit.

St Charles slips a place into 3rd courtesy of being heavily outscored by the 2 above him, while Beefy maintained his position in 4th even though he sacrificed a couple of points by pussying out of the Gamball.

Zin, in 5th, lost a little ground on those above him while also coming under fire from the improvers below him, as Sanjay in 6th and Worldclass in 7th both passed the century mark with ease this week.

Amelia, climbing a place, should be the next to join the centurions club as she sits in 8th just 4 short of that landmark figure and 3 points clear of Derby in 9th, while Snooty lost vital ground on those above him to be anchored at the foot of the table, some 26 points from safety.

I don't wish to steal Bomber's thunder but I suspect this week's Championship results may have made things very interesting for the overall table. For once the gamball didn't have a massive impact on the week's results - just one correct score and 2 correct predictions - but strangely, there is a direct correlation between this week's placings and correct scoreball predictions; the 6 players gaining the scoreball point occupy the top 6 places.

So congrats to this week's winner, Quantum. Marriage has clearly given him enough spare time to study form, weigh up possibilities and make considered judgements - 6 correct predictions gives him this week's top score despite getting the gamball wrong. 2nd place goes to Baggie One, helped by a correct score on the bonus ball and benefiting from the shock defeat of the "2nd best team in the country" (quote from various Dingle morons on BBCWM). A bit of a gap to Turkeydinner in 3rd place, the only player to get maximum points from the gamball - the less said about his other predictions the better. Mid-table positions for Stairs, Themaclad, 4eva and Twerton and then a big gap to the bottom 3.

Joker has an excuse for his zero score. Unfortunately he submitted his predictions late and therefore only scored on the late Saturday and Sunday games - both of which he got wrong. Bomber has no such excuse - just 2 correct predictions, failure on all his balls - a disaster of a week. No predictions from Spiritematt, so Bomber is saved from the humiliation of bottom spot.

Much like the Premiership, the Championship table is looking very competitive extremely close with just 11 points separating the top 5.

Themaclad still leads the way at the top, extending his lead to 5 points this week from a new challenger as Quantum risks a nose bleed from his climb of two places up into 2nd.

Bomber had a mare of a week losing his automatic promotion spot to drop to 3rd, while 4eva edged to within a point in 4th, with turkeydinner just a further point back in 5th.

These 5 could easily all swap places in week 12 when we reconvene next week and they’ve also put a bit of daylight between themselves and the lower half of the league.

Stairs leads the chase of them in 6th though only narrowly from an improving BaggieOne in 7th with a more than decent week.
Twerton sits well off the pace in 8th climbing a place above Spireite who seems to have left the party early, missing for the last 2 weeks.

Joker’s traffic problems meant that we could only count his predictions for the games that hadn’t kicked off but as Zin mentioned neither game helped add to his tally and he sits at the bottom adrift by 20 odd points.
