Right, the Zaha hate has got a bit cringeworthy:
1. He didn't spit at anyone, he spat while 10 yards away form our wall in their general direction, might have looked bad but nothing in it otherwise the players would have gone mental
2. He didn't try to kill Flo - he was frustrated and went in late, no studs showing etc so a yellow was correct
3. A yellow was also correct for Zanka - he was sloppy and slow, Zaha got in front and then a genuine attempt to play the ball was late
4. I didn't see any elbow on the halfway line, but again muted reactions from the players would suggest there's nothing in it
Zaha is not likeable, but is class. He's arguable the best player outside the top 6 and showed why on Saturday, quiet but delivered the match winning moment. He does need more protection in my opinion. Because he's so quick and skillful he does get hit more than others, part and parcel of being a good player but he does take some nasty challenges from frustrated players - the one against Watford was a shocker, and will probably have been in his mind when he reacted to Zanka's. He could definitely help himself with his rolling around and protesting to the officials, mind you.
