I'm struggling to understand some of the reports about the deal for Rondon.
"Agreement can't be reached" etc.
I was under the impression that he had a relegation clause in his contract that allowed him to leave for circa £16.5m. If this is the case, surely there wouldn't be any negotiation to be done. The bid comes and he's free to go, simple as that.
So does all this talk mean Newcastle aren't willing to meet that clause? Or is the clause simply media BS? Something here doesn't add up - especially as Newcastle should have cash after the sale of Mitrovic. Or maybe they need to get rid of Gayle to free up funds for wages. All seems a bit of an illogical mess to me.
