Back to the game, thought we played as well today with the ball as we did against Forest. Without the ball we had to work a hell of a lot harder because Brentford were far far better as a team than Forest. The fact that they really prised us wide open only once to score (Mr. Wells please take note of how calmly Mr. Howson tucked the ball away) when they have ripped others to shreds and otherwise helped by some great goalkeeping by Smithies when they took aim from elsewhere around the box to me says we are becoming much better as a defence.
Noting your point ELT, Radi was our best midfielder by a country mile at the start of the season but isn't getting a sniff right now. Speaks volumes for how the lads in there have upped their game under Powell. Either that or Powell ain't impressed.
Wouldn't be surprised now to see them sniffing around the top 6 come next May, though owt can happen. Wolves could easily be bottom half by Christmas and I think the Millers bubble is well burst of those that came up.
Mr. Powell told Oggie he expects to be doing some business in January. Make of that what you will. Oggie also offered Jon Stead on behalf of Mr. 'oyle to the chickens for £10 million. Cheep, cheep at half the price if you ask me.
