Things change. I'm not sure the Manchester area needs another EFL club though.
If Salford achieve league status and drag in crowds sufficient to justify that ........ where were those supporters before? Are they new fans of football? Were they fans of other clubs like Oldham sliding slowly down the pan? Are they there for the full trip, or will they get off first stop? Will the community be behind them in the way that it isn't quite at the moment? And if a large community like Salford wanted its own EFL club, why didn't it get one before now? And more important if we are asking whether the fans are there for the long-haul, how about the owners? Did they simply watch The Field of Dreams one time too many?
Of course they are trying to buy their way into the League, but Liverpool are trying to buy their way to the Premier title, as did Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd ......... why hassle Salford, just because they look as though they might succeed?
