This match is a relegation battle and it was always going to be a tight match. That means that even we wanted to go out and attack Hull, we wouldn't be able to because there was never going to be any space to attack and it would leave gaps that hull could exploit. Even with Varela on the pitch, there wouldn't have been any space for him to exploit. His impact would have been little and we would have wasted him.
