Considering it’s the lowest populated group of the 4, the total number of points scored is the clear second highest after round 2.
With only four players in the Group it’s poised to be the tightest group of all with only 11 points covering them and any 2 from the 4 are still right in the mix to qualify for the knockout stage.

Stairs still tops the Group thanks to a correct result Gamball & Bonus Ball, his 4 point lead from last week still intact, as SCO matches his 29 point haul courtesy of maximum points on the Gamball and correct result Bonus Ball.

While 29 points for the round is very impressive, it was still topped by the 36 scored by DD, 13 out of 15 correct results including a bang on Gamball and a correct result Bonus. Our Prediction league champion has moved ominously into 3rd spot after this round and is only and is only 3 points and 7 points respectively off 2nd and top spot.

Far from out of it in 4th, despite the lowest score of the week in this group is Salop, the only player to suffer at the hands of the Gamball this week.

Into Round 3 then and all to play for in the current “Group of death”

Solid scoring on the whole from the group. Vicar leads the way this week with an excellent 29 points, bolstered by 8 points won on the last three matches!! Our of the 15 games he got at least the correct result on 12 of them, superb consistency!!

In second place is Joker, he was the only one to score positive points on the Gamball and managed 8 correct results.

Zinman was next a further 4 points behind, mainly because he was not able to predict any Correct Scores but again his decision to not play the Gamball paid off as he got it wrong again but avoided the penalty.

I suppose this not playing the gamball will work if you keep getting the prediction wrong!!!

4eva and Matt fill the bottom two places, Matt by virtue of no Correct Scores even though he got 9 correct results!! All to play for still.

So, either you're all getting much better at this or the World Cup is turning out to be rather predictable.  

Round 2 saw a significant improvement in scoring with an impressive number of correct result predictions. Of the 15 matches in round 2, Derby got 13 scores correct including the gamball and bonus. Add in an extra point for the score ball and it's no surprise that he heads the table for Round 2.

Quantum takes 2nd place, wisely choosing not to play the gamball, with BBB in third, predicting results well but failing to get a single correct score.

Beefy improved (well, after round 1's effort it would have been difficult not to) and Worldclass wasn't exactly world class this week.

So where does that put the race for qualification? Derby takes over the leadership of the group but can't yet book his place in the last 8 with BBB and Quantum hot on his heels. Worldclass is some way behind in 4th place but as round 2 showed, it's possible to pick up big points and so shouldn't give up hope yet. And then there's Beefy, still in 5th place and needing a minor miracle to compete with the rest. No doubt he'll bemoan his luck with last minute goals ruining his gamball while forgetting the extra points gained by Germany's last kick win.

Very good scoring coming from this group again and Judging scores from matchday 1 the group should make for very interesting reading Overall.

But a big wow goes to Baggie one this week who from 15 predictions got 12 correct results and one correct score    giving him a huge 31 Points and top of the pile.

Next was Bomber who had impressive 20 points, I think that should be enough to keep him top.

Twerton wasn't far behind in 3rd place with 18 points while a point further away in 4th was Snoots with 17.

Although last in fifth place Amelia still managed 15 points to keep this group very much alive and Kicking ....
